SMB Speed Up is a utility program to optimize SMB (network share) server performance on your local area network. It has a very simple interface, which allows you to select exactly which applications and network connections will be optimized. In addition, you can select a reference time period and the last saved settings of applications will be used when starting a scan. It’s only SMB server that currently supports this feature.

Version 1.0 has a large number of problems that I tried to solve as best I could. It’s not in my power to guarantee an almost perfect software. The main part of the problems I fixed are listed below.

Multi-user mode
I implemented a solution for the multi-user application mode. Unfortunately, one user cannot use SMB speed up if another user uses SMB speed up in his (her) computer. The system files must be the same. The fact that one user is not able to use SMB speed up when another user is using SMB speed up is a real problem. I hope I will be able to solve this problem in the next version.

Saved settings
A side effect of the multi-user problem that I am not able to solve yet, is that a previous scan session is locked.

Clock synchronization
A large number of users have problems to see the results. After the setup was done they need to synchronize the clocks. If they leave the computer for some minutes, when they start the process again, they can see the results of the
