q skills for success is a six-level series with two strands, reading and writing and listening and speaking. this instructional program focuses on the key elements that comprise a 21st century education, the student must read and write and be able to listen and speak clearly and articulately.

the series provides students with: clearly identifed learning outcomes that focus students on the goal of instruction thought-provoking unit questions that provide a critical thinking framework for each unit explicit skills instruction that builds student’s language profciency all new content and practice activities for every unit, approximately 20 hours of practice per strand, with q online practice.

the series is aligned to the iabc learning standards for the english language arts (ela) and national content learning standards for students (ncls).

in this study, the focus has been on the improvement of the knowledge and the skills of the students through the provision of higher quality and more relevant educational materials. the main objective is to improve the educational quality of the courses for the students who take the course through the provision of educational materials that meet the needs of the students. the study of the student literature was carried out using the methods of qualitative analysis. according to the studies, the books which are in the literature refer to the higher level cognitive skills. in addition, the methods of textual analysis indicate the lack of sufficient knowledge and skills of the students in the fields of literacy and language. the results of this study indicate that the books written for the students to learn english should refer to the higher levels of literacy and language. the books should include the higher level cognitive skills like using the skills of evaluation and synthesis. the results of this study imply that the course books which are being written or will be written should refer to the higher level cognitive skills of the students in the field of reading and writing. these courses should be designed to help students to improve their reading and writing skills. as a result, the findings of this study can be used to support the teachers in writing better and more relevant course materials for their students. this study indicates that the course books which are in the literature refer to the higher levels of cognitive skills of the students. it is recommended that the students who are taking the course to learn english should refer to the higher levels of literacy and language.
